Absolute Poker Sit and Go: STEPS Tournaments

A STEPS tournament, as the name implies, is a tournament in which you move from one STEP to the next by succeeding in each phase of the tournament. A STEPS tournament includes ten STEPS in total. The buy-in for the very first STEP is only $.10. When you win a STEP, you gain free entry into the next STEP. Each STEP has a higher buy-in than the previous STEP, and if you wish to enter a later STEP without playing in the early rounds, you may do so buy paying the buy-in outright.

Although simply buying-in into a later STEP in order to skip the early STEPS might seem like a good time saver, it's important to realize just how quickly the buy-ins for each STEP increase. The first STEP costs only ten cents to enter. The sixth STEP might cost $60 to buy in. The ninth STEP could cost $760 or more. The final STEP might cost $2,450+$100, or even more. As you can see, it's very important to win your current STEP, especially as the tournament continues.

Players who finish 1st or 2nd move on for free. Players who finish 3rd or 4th are allowed to try the current STEP again. Whoever finished 5th drops down and replays the previous STEP.

Sit and Go tournaments are a great way to get into tournament poker action quickly. Absolute Poker offers many different types of Sit and Go tournaments, meaning that any poker player will find something to enjoy about their Sit and Go system.
