Absolute Poker provides its players with a multitude of competitive tournament opportunities. Tournaments occur frequently and often have very large prize pools.

Guaranteed Prize Pool Tournaments

Absolute Poker offers a series of massive guaranteed prize pool tournaments on Wednesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays. Smaller guaranteed prize pool tournaments are available every day of the week, with prize pools starting at $1,000. These tournaments have set prize pools and payout schedules that remain constant week after week regardless of how many players buy in.

The Guaranteed Deep Stack tournament takes place every Saturday at 5:30 PM Eastern. It includes a $100,000 prize pool with a buy-in of $300+20 and 5,000 chips for each player. Every Sunday at 2:00 PM you'll find the $100,000 Guarantee, with a buy-in of $500+30 and 3,000 chips for each player. On Sunday evening at 5:30 PM Absolute Poker holds a $200,000 Guarantee tournament - a 3,000 chip tourney with a $200+15 buy-in. Two guaranteed prize pool tournaments are also available on Wednesday. This starts with a $150,000 tournament at 8:30 Eastern, with a $1,000+50 buy-in and 5,000 chips per player. Finally, you'll find an $80,000 Sniper Guarantee at 9:00 PM Eastern. This tournament has a buy-in of $200+15, 3,000 chips per player, and a $20 bounty of every player you knock out of the tournament.

Absolute Poker Sit and Go Tournaments

Absolute Poker regularly hosts plenty of Sit and Go tournaments. These consist of single-table and multi-table tournaments that start up as soon as enough players have registered for seats. Sit and Go tournaments at Absolute Poker include 7 players for Stud tournaments and 9, 18, 27, or 45 entrants for Omaha and Hold'em. One unique feature at Absolute Poker is their STEP tournaments. These are progressive tournaments with a tiny buy-in (starting at only $.10). Each STEP tournament includes a total of 10 steps. After you win a STEP, you move on to the next. The buy-ins get progressively higher as you continue on to more and more steps. Only the first and second place winners get to continue, but other top finishers are invited to replay the STEP.

You can buy into any STEP, no matter how progressed, by paying the cash buy-in. However, the first and second place finisher in each STEP will have their entry fee to the next STEP covered by Absolute Poker. The winner of the entire STEP tournament receives an invitation to a major land-based tournament.

Absolute Poker Freerolls

Absolute Poker regularly hosts freeroll tournaments. These tournaments allow online poker players to enter tournaments and play for cash prizes and merchandise such as clothing, electronics and poker books without paying a buy-in. Most of the freerolls, such as the Shark Poker League freeroll, the PokerStop freeroll, and the Fox Hunt Freeroll are played in Texas Hold 'em and include prizes between $50 and $5,000.

Absolute Poker Re-buy Tournaments

Most tournaments are freezeouts, in which you're eliminated from the tournament as soon as you lose all of your chips. However, Absolute Poker offers a selection of re-buy tournaments which allow you to purchase additional chips if you bust out in the first hour of play. Turbo or Ultra Turbo have a re-buy time limit of 30 minutes. Each player in an Absolute Poker Re-buy starts with 1,500 chips. You can re-buy as soon as your stack drops below 1,500. Just before the re-buy period expires, all players will have the opportunity to purchase an add-on of 2,000 chips or a double add-on of 4,000 chips.

Any funds collected through add-ons and re-buys will be contributed to the prize pool, and players who end in a money finish will collect their share of the extra cash.

Satellite Tournaments at Absolute Poker

Absolute Poker offers several satellite tournaments, or tournaments with a relatively small buy-in where the winner is granted entry into a larger tournament. Absolute Poker hosts a wide range of satellites, and winning a satellite could allow you free entry into a major tournament such as the World Poker Tour or World Series of Poker. Generally, satellites that allow access to the largest tournaments will have the largest buy-ins.

Absolute Poker Heads Up Tournaments

Heads Up tournaments pit players head to head in a two-seat-per-table tournament. Once you beat out your sole adversary, you move to another Heads Up match. This process continues until only a single player remains. Typically, the Heads Up tournaments at Absolute Poker have a winner-take-all prize payout. To find Heads Up tournaments in the Absolute Poker software, look under the Sit and Go tab.

Absolute Poker Private Tournaments

Absolute Poker allows real money players to schedule their own private tournaments including up to eight of their friends. This is an excellent way of replicating the intimacy of a home game in an online, long-distance format. In order to host your own tournaments and join private tournament groups, you'll need to have a FAME (or VIP) status of either Gold, Platinum, or Diamond. You can reach these levels by playing real money poker regularly at Absolute Poker. Private tournaments can be accessed by choosing the Tournaments tab in the Absolute Poker lobby and clicking on "Join Private Tournament Group".

Deal Making at Absolute Poker

Absolute Poker includes a unique feature in some of their tournaments called "deal making." This feature allows players who reach the final table to negotiate a deal with one another and split the prize money as they see fit. If you reach a final table in an Absolute Poker tournament, you'll see a button entitled DEAL MAKING. If everyone agrees to make a deal, an Absolute Poker administrator will enter the room and supervise the negotiation process. If a deal cannot be reached unanimously, the table will resume play and payouts will be divided according to the original payment schedule.

Participating in tournaments at Absolute Poker can be fun and lucrative. Because of the great number of tournaments that Absolute Poker provides, players can be assured that there will be enough tournament action to satisfy their needs.
