Absolute Poker operates one of the most comprehensive VIP clubs around. Called Fame, this players' club is a multi tiered system that offers players greater benefits as they continue to play on Absolute Poker. Fame is designed as an extensive achievement-based program that requires continual monthly play to remain in each designated tier, with each tier offering prizes such as re-load bonuses, store discounts, freerolls and even opportunities to win vacation getaways.

Status Points and Absolute Points

Absolute Poker's Fame program is founded around two types of points that players can earn. Absolute Points are the primary currency for poker playing at Absolute Poker tables. Players earn Absolute Points every time they play a real money game. These points remain in a player's account and do not disappear if not used in a given time frame. Ultimately, these points are then used to take advantage of some of the benefits brought by the Fame program such as store merchandise, vacation getaways, tournament entries and cash back.

The second type of points are the Status Points that are only used to designate which Status tier you have qualified for. When a player earns Absolute Points they also earn Status Points. However, Status Points are reset at the end of every month, meaning that players can move down, up or stay at a level depending on how much they play each month and how many Absolute Points they earn in a month.

Status Levels

There are a total of five Status levels. Their names, requirements and benefits are as follows:

Bronze Status: Requires 0 points, so all Absolute Poker players at least start out at this level. All earned Absolute Points are multiplied by 1. Benefits include custom table skins, re-load bonuses, refer a friend bonus, e-mail bonus offers and newsletter updates.

Silver Status: Requires 50 points per month to maintain status level. Absolute Points earned are multiplied by 2. Benefits include Bronze bonuses plus lower buy-ins in certain tournaments and the ability to purchase gift cards using Absolute Points.

Gold Status: Requires 500 points per month to maintain status level. All Absolute Points earned are multiplied by 3. Additional benefits include the ability to use Absolute Points for tickets and events. Also, players at this level gain the ability to create their own tournaments and get complete access to the rewards merchandise store.

Platinum VIP Status: 2,500 points per month to maintain status level. Absolute Points are multiplied by 4. Bonus benefits include the ability to trade Absolute Points for cash back, invitation to satellite tournaments, access to VIP customer support system, and an automatic 10% discount on merchandise purchased in the rewards store.

Diamond Elite Status: Requires 10,000 points to reach level. To maintain this level a player must average at least 30,000 points over a span of three consecutive months. All Absolute Points earned are multiplied by 5. Extra benefits include access to a 5% interest bearing account, invitation to satellite tournaments and special concierge service such as travel arrangements, nightlife and luxury entertainment for tournaments and events that are attended.

Earning Absolute / Status Points in Games

The most common method to earn points is by playing in real money games. Ring games that have micro limits such as $0.01 and up to $0.50 earn 1 Status Point but require 5 to 20 raked hands to be played first. Limits that start at $1 and over only require the player to play one raked hand to earn 1 Status Point. Ring games starting at a $4/$8 limit earn 2 Status Points and only require one raked hand to be played. Status level multipliers raise the total amount of Status Points earned in a Ring game accordingly.

Players can also earn points by playing in Sit & Go events and other tournaments. Here Status Points are earned based on the entry fee. The rate is 1 Status Point for every 30 cents of the tournament's entry fee. Players cannot earn fractions of Status Points. Therefore, a tournament with an entry fee of $5 will have the remaining point fraction carried over into the next set of Status Points that are earned in future tournament entries. Additionally, blackjack players can earn 1 Status Point for every $25 wagered.

Bonus Release

All Absolute Poker bonus dollars are released relative to Status Points. Players must play real money games to earn Status Points which then release bonus dollars into a player's account. Players who qualify for a Bronze, Silver or Gold Fame level must achieve 20 Status Points to release one 1 dollar. Platinum VIP players require 18 Status Points to release 1 bonus dollar and Diamond Elite players need 17 Status Points earned to release 1 bonus dollar. Status Points for the purpose of releasing bonus dollars can be done by playing real money ring games and poker tournaments. Regular and tournament blackjack matches do not count toward releasing bonus dollars.

Bonus dollars are only released in $5 increments, meaning a player must earn at least 100 Status Points before releasing a bonus dollars package. Players cannot work on multiple bonuses at the same time - earlier bonuses must either be released first or expire before being able to release a second bonus. All players have 60 days to release the maximum allotted bonus dollars for any given earned promotion. However, there is no expiration date on released bonus dollars. This means that bonus dollars that are successfully released within the 60 day period are transferred to the player's account and has no expiration date.

Rewards Overview

Once a player has earned enough Absolute Points, they can be spent in a variety of ways. By gaining access to the store through Gold Fame status, players can purchase exclusive Absolute Poker apparel, a host of various electronic equipment and gadgets, luxurious lifestyle items and tickets to sporting events such as MLB games, golf tournaments and concert events.

Absolute Points can also be used to enter into exclusive tournaments that are only available by paying in Absolute Points. These tournaments range from bi-weekly $5,000 events to the UBOC $4 million Online Championship. Finally, players who qualify for Gold, Platinum VIP or Diamond Elite status levels can exchange their Absolute Points for money that can be withdrawn or used to fund your playing bankroll. The set exchange rate is $0.007 per Absolute Point.

Acquiring points and becoming a VIP at Absolute Poker requires participating in many real money games. However, the rewards that VIP members gain are well worth the effort.
