In the upper left corner of the page, you'll see a listing for the next race you can bet on at Betfair. How to Bet On Horse Racing at Betfair

Placing a bet on horse racing is easy at Betfair:

1. Find the event you'd like to bet on and click on it.
2. You'll see a listing of all of the horses involved in the event. Each horse's odds is listed in a blue box to the right of the horse as a decimal. If you'd prefer to see the odds as fractions, you can use the Betfair conversion tool. However, decimals are quite fast once you get used to them.
3. Click on the blue decimal box next to the horse you wish to bet on.
4. Enter your stake and Betfair will automatically calculate your potential profit if your bet wins.
5. In order to finally place the bet, click on Submit. You'll have to confirm your bet by clicking Yes or you can cancel the bet by clicking No.

You can also place Lay bets on horse racing at Betfair. A Lay bet is a bet that a particular outcome will not happen. So, you could bet that a certain horse, or horses, will lose the race instead of win. Placing a Lay bet is similar to placing a normal bet, except you'll click on the purple/pink box instead of the blue box. Complete the bet in the same way by entering your stake, clicking Submit and clicking Yes.
