Rakeback programs have become extremely popular in the world of online poker. Often not advertised officially by poker rooms, they offer new players a smart incentive that can easily add thousands of dollars into your bankroll on a monthly basis just by playing regularly. Bodog does not officially have any rakeback program. Instead, Bodog offers a rake rebate program that works like a comp points program.

Bodog Rake Rebate Program

Because Bodog does not officially recognize its program as a rakeback, players won’t find an ordinary discussion of rakeback percentages. However, Bodog still makes its profits the same way as any other online poker site. The site takes off 5% of each pot, with a maximum rake of $3 per pot. Ordinarily, the point of a rakeback program would be to offer players a percentage of the amount that they've contributed to the pot as cash back. With Bodog’s program, players still receive an amount of the rake back depending on how much they contributed, but Bodog provides it via poker points. These poker points can then be redeemed for bonus cash packages.

How Bodog’s Rake Rebate Works

Every time a real money ring game or tournament occurs, the pot is contributed by the various players who are seated and playing at the tables. Bodog takes 5% of each pot as their rake. For any given pot this can range from a rake of $0.01 to a maximum of $3 depending on the game limit and contributions made by the players.

Depending on your contributions to any given pot, Bodog offers a rebate. Ordinarily, this would be in a form of a percentage and the rakeback itself would be offered in cash money. However, Bodog uses an alternative method of offering poker points as the actual rakeback.

Bodog Rake to Poker Points Ratio

Here is how the ratio of rake to poker points breaks down:

  • $0.05 - $0.20 in Rake Contributions = .10 Poker Points
  • $0.25 - $0.45 in Rake Contributions = 0.25 Poker Points
  • $0.50 - $0.95 in Rake Contributions = 0.50 Poker Points
  • $1.00 - $3.00 in Rake Contributions = 1.00 Poker Points

Using Bodog Poker Points

In order to complete the rake rebate cycle, Bodog allows players to use accumulated poker points from their rake contributions by converting them into bonus cash packages. Every 100 points earned equals $1.00 in bonus. Bodog has a minimum conversion limit of 500 points which equals $5.00 in bonuses.

For consistent poker players, this can make for a nice bonus at the end of the month. Bodog allows a maximum of 25,000 points to be converted in a 30 day period. Therefore, you can accrue up to a possible $2,500 worth in rakeback per month if you participate a lot at Bodog.

While this cannot be considered a true rakeback program, and Bodog themselves don’t recognize it as such, players still get similar incentives compared to traditional rakeback programs offered by other online poker portals.
