Tournament play is a structured event in poker that allows players to advance from table to table in a series of poker games. The different structures of Sit and Go's, guaranteed tournaments and satellites that Paradise Poker offers for its live events make for a well-stocked tournament list. Larger prize pools than any ring game can offer, plus the chance to win space into even bigger live events, is a draw at Paradise Poker.
Current Tournament Options at Paradise Poker
The current tournaments at Paradise Poker are a selection of daily and weekly guaranteed tournaments as well as satellites to several live, major poker events such as the Irish Open, Paradise Poker's own European Tour and the Greek Poker Tour. Scheduled tournaments are all listed at Paradise Poker under their tab headings of Multi-table tournaments from the player's lobby. Both freerolls and guaranteed prize tournaments also have listed schedules there.
Guaranteed Tourneys
€130,000 MTT Leaderboards
While the leaderboard races are connected to real money tournament play, the leaderboard is not a tournament itself. Any player who competes in a cash tournament gets points toward their leaderboard position. The top 50 players each month get a share of €20,00 in cash prizes. In July, the top five monthly players will play a 30 person final tournament to earn a package to the WSOP worth €10,000. Paradise offers intriguing tournament variations like these at regular intervals.
Daily Texas Hold'em
Thirty-five daily Texas Holdem tournaments run at Paradise Poker, with buy-ins down to €1 or even €0.10 plus €0.2 on the Micro Rebuy tournaments. On the other end, larger buy-ins and larger prize pools run up to guaranteed prizes as high as €45,000 on daily rebuys or €100,000 on the Sunday freeze out. Four weekend tournaments run on Saturday and Sunday as well. The full list of tournaments is accessible from the players' lobby under Multitourney and includes deep stack games, rebuys, turbos and freezeouts.
Paradise Free Tournaments
€1000 New Player Freeroll
New players have a shot at building up their bankroll with free entry into the €1000 New Player Freeroll. Each Saturday at 19:00 GMT, any player who has registered a new real money account and made a first deposit within 14 days is able to play in this beginning freeroll.
€10,000 Loyalty Freeroll
Monthly, on the last Tuesday of the month at 19:00 GMT, regular players can compete in the loyalty freeroll for a prize pool of €10,000. The only qualifier for players is that they must have played in at least 1500 raked hands over the 30 days before the freeroll. High frequency players will easily be able to enter this freeroll every month to win some extra cash.
Daily Freerolls
Paradise Poker offers seven daily freerolls that allow players to earn free cash. Two offer zero cost entry with prize pools of €75 and €100 for No Limit Holdem tournaments. The other five require five raked hands within 24 hours and offer a game variety of Omaha, Omaha Hi-Lo, Five Card Draw 7 to Ace, No Limit Holdem and Limit Seven Card Stud. Not only are there a choice of games, each offers a real money prize of €100.
Satellite Tournaments
With the spring and summer opening up live international poker events, the March and April satellite tourneys, both rebuys and freezeouts, are hot commodities at Paradise Poker. Currently running daily satellites feed into weekly finals that allow players to win seats into one of the following live events for buy-ins as low as €1.10:
- Irish Poker Open 2012--Dublin, 2 to 5 April 2012
- Greek Poker Tour--Leg 3 Vienna, 21 to 25 April 2012
- Paradise Poker Tour--Madrid Leg May 2012, Bulgaria Leg July 2012
Sit and Go's
€90,000 Sit and Go Races
Two races each month (from February to April) will offer Sit and Go players a chance at their share of €90,000, plus leaderboard points. Bronze, Silver and Gold level races are open at buy-ins from €1 to €30 for each of the six races. Prize pools range from €2000 to €9000 with top place winners earning up to €2000 at the Gold level races.
Jackpot Sit and Go's
The newest tournament addition is the €10,000 Jackpot Sit and Go which gives successful players a chance to win the whole pot upon completing six consecutive Sit'N'Go wins. The 10 player STTs give players 1500 starting chips and eight minute blinds at each level. They also offer a €200 consolation prize for first and second place finishers who don't complete the six-win streak.
Promotional Tournaments
€200,000 Guaranteed Head Hunter Tournament
Paradise Poker is offering its next Head Hunter Tournament on April 18, 2012. Daily satellites feeding to the final will guarantee seats for some players. Others may choose a direct buy-in at €300 plus €20. Of this total, 75% feeds the prize pool and 25% goes to the player's bounties (head). Players receive 5000 starting chips. There are 15 minute blinds at each level. The total prize pool is a guaranteed €200,000 plus any additional bounty prizes that players win.
€10,000 Guaranteed Head Hunter Tournament
The weekly Head Hunting occurs every Sunday at 17:00 GMT. With 10 feeder satellites that run from noon until the Head Hunter on Sundays, mostly one hand turbo games, plus seven daily satellites Monday through Saturday of both freezeouts and rebuys, players have numerous chances to qualify for the €10,000 Guaranteed Head Hunter Tournament at a cost as €3. Otherwise, the direct buy-in is €30 plus €3 with 75% being standard payout toward the prize pool and 25% going to the player's head. The two ways to win are to knock out fellow players or to win the whole tournament for the major share of the €10,000 prize pool.
Paradise Poker won the Casino Player Magazine 2006 award for Best Poker Tournaments. Every style, every limit (from micro stakes to major cash) and more than just Texas Holdem in even the freerolls make the tournament list at Paradise Poker catered to almost every type of tournament poker player on the Internet.
