Party Poker Download - How to Obtain the Party Poker Software

Party Poker offers free, downloadable software for PC users who wish to play at Party Poker's online card room. Downloading and installing the software is typically a one-click process as long as a player's computer meets the system and compatibility requirements for the Party Poker software client.

Downloading Party Poker Software

Beginning to play poker at Party Poker is quite easy. From the homepage (or any Party Poker page), click the "download now" button to begin the software download. If the software does not begin automatically on your system, open the Start menu. Use the Find command for files and folders and enter "PartyPokerSetup.exe" as the name of the file you're searching for. When you find the file, double click on the icon to begin the software installation. Once the software is installed, you can set up your account, make your first deposit and begin playing poker.

Computer Compatibility

Currently, Party Poker's downloadable software client is only available for PC users. Neither Mac nor Linux operating systems support or play the downloadable software. However, Mac and Linux users can still access Party Poker games via web browsers by using "PartyPoker.com Anywhere" instant play games. Mac users running a Parallels program or Virtual PC emulator may use the standard downloadable software through the PC emulator.

For various Windows operating systems, the following are fully compatible with Party Poker software:

• Windows ME
• Windows XP
• Windows Vista
• Windows 98 becomes compatible with additional Java plug-ins

Windows NT and 95 are not compatible and must be upgraded to Windows XP in order to use Party Poker's software for live games.

Minimum System Requirements

At the very least, to effectively run Party Poker's software, players must run these minimums on their computer system in order to prevent problems or interruptions during live play:

• Pentium processor with 128MB of RAM
• Download space for an approximately 7.07 MB file
• Sound card to hear available audio features
• 800x600 pixels screen resolution with at least 256 colors

Standard System Requirements

The standard settings will give players the best poker experience at Party Poker using the downloadable software. While the minimum settings are the lowest required to run the software, Party Poker recommends using the standard settings that will allow players to fully take advantage of everything that the poker client has to offer during regular game play.

• Download space for an approximately 7.07 MB file
• Sound card to hear available audio features
• 1200x800 pixels screen resolution with at least 256 colors
